Transforming tragedy into hope by helping to support young people in our local communities improve their mental, emotional, and social wellbeing in loving memory of Vanessa.

The Be A Vanessa Foundation was born from heartbreak when we lost our beautiful daughter Vanessa in a tragic car accident at age 10. Vanessa was a beacon of light who touched everyone with her kindness and compassion.
Rather than letting grief consume us, we channeled our love for Vanessa into creating a foundation that embodies her spirit and continues her legacy of caring for others.
Our focus is on helping others. When bad things happen in life, be a helper. You can always find someone helping. We focus on helping others so that they can find their way in tough and tragic times.
Vanessa was a vibrant young lady who brought joy and light to everyone around her. She was known for her beautiful, bright smile, her signature pink bows, and her shy temperament. She loved her faith, her family, and her friends. She enjoyed gymnastics, cheer, and soccer. She was a talented artist who loved the color pink. She enjoyed playing with her siblings and was so funny once she became comfortable around you. She was steadfast in her convictions, not allowing others to change her mind. She had tremendous determination and talent. She often taught herself new things such as gymnastics, art, and music. Vanessa loved to help others and create things for others. She had a pure heart. She was an amazing young lady and is constantly missed.
We provide access to services, resources, and education tailored specifically for young people facing life's challenges.
